shellgraph

Known limits

Connections, hosts and platforms that ShellGraph cannot see.

  • The ss command gives a snapshot. A short or rare connection can be missing. Each scan takes 3 samples by default. Run scans at regular intervals.
  • A rescan replaces the data. A connection that did not occur during the scan is not on the map.
  • The target hosts must be Linux.
  • Two VLANs of one Environment must not have the same addresses.
  • Cloned virtual machines with the same machine ID are kept apart by the hostname. If the hostname is also the same, they are one host.
  • Without sudo, the collector does not see the process of the sockets of other users. These services show as unknown:<port>, and the host has the status partial.
  • A host that is off during a scan is deleted, with its display names and its manual tag.
  • Kubernetes and UDP are not supported.
